Shrewsbury - Joanne K. (Luhta) Bouvier, age 73, of Shrewsbury, passed away on April 28, 2018 at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, after a brief illness. Joanne was born on March 21, 1945 to Palmina (Antinarella) and Eino J. Luhta in Worcester, MA. She grew up in Holden, Massachusetts and attended Wachusett Regional High School and Worcester State College.
Joanne is survived by her husband and best friend, Joseph A. Bouvier, her sons Kenneth A. (wife Nicole) Peterson and Thomas A. (wife Heidi) Peterson, 3 precious grandchildren Bethany Peterson and Arthur and Padraic Peterson, step-children Joseph Bouvier Jr, Marc F. Bouvier, Brian D. Bouvier, Keith A. Bouvier, Michelle Bouvier-Paul, and Michael S. Bouvier, step-grandchildren Ashley (Paul) Gagnon and Stephanie (Paul) Senneville, Brittany and DJ Bouvier, Matt, Keith and Angela Bouvier, Jaclyn and Anthony Bouvier. She is also survived by her sisters Mary (Luhta) Cravedi and Jocelyn (Luhta) Segrin and pre-deceased by her brother, David Luhta. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Joanne enjoyed golfing and was a member and past VP of Greenhill Woman's Golf Association. She was a member of Strawberry Hill Woman's Golf Assoc., TGIF of Millwood in Framingham, Worcester County Woman's Golf Assoc., Woman's Golf Assoc. of MA., Cypress Creek CC in Boynton Beach, FL and National Hole-in-One Association. She owned and operated “Joanne’s Bookkeeping Services.” She was a loving and generous woman who loved spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren, who will miss her greatly.
There will be a memorial mass at St. Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA 01545, on Saturday, May 12th at 10:00 am. A reception will follow at the church. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester is assisting the family with arrangements.
