Wade Eugene Kelly, 63, of Albany passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Kelly at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 30, 2018, at Wright’s Chapel Cemetery in Scooterville, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Rickey Wells will officiate.
Born July 24, 1954 in Moultrie, Mr. Kelly was the son of the late Eugene “Gene” Kelly and Mary Vernell McKellar Boatwright. He was also preceded in death by one brother, William Joseph “Billy” Kelly. He worked as a printer and a farmer most of his life. He loved playing the drums; he loved fishing and hunting and was of the Baptist faith. He had lived in Albany for the last two years, but was originally from Scooterville.
Mr. Kelly is survived by two daughters, Nicole Kelly of New Mexico and Jessica Kelly of New Hampshire; one sister, Janice Smith of Leesburg; three grandsons, Chris, Tyler and Mikael; his nieces, Lesley Smith of Leesburg and Callie Smith Turner and husband Michael of Albany; his great-nieces, Cierra and Alivia; and his great-nephews, Tice and Davyn.
