Allan Peter DeLaria, of Medford, passed away on Tuesday, March 24th at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. He was 79.
Born in Everett, he was raised in Medford and was the son of the late James and Dorothea (Casano) DeLaria. Allan was a Medford High School graduate with the Class of 1957. He worked as a machinist at the Federal Paperboard Co. and the Standard Box Co. In his spare time, Allan greatly enjoyed golf, baseball and hockey. His sense of humor and love for his family will be missed by all the lives he touched.
Allan was the beloved husband of Virginia Nancy (Howard) DeLaria, with whom he shared many loving years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Allan P. DeLaria, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Norwood, Kimberly Nixon and her husband Robert of Nashua, NH, Natalie DeLaria and her partner Arun Kholsa of Stow, Nicole Langley and her husband Kevin of Medford. Allan was the loving grandfather of Corey, Connor, Timothy, Amy, Ashley, Joshua and Kathryn, and the dear brother of David DeLaria and his husband Robert Daigle of Cambridge, MD, Lorraine Rogers and her husband Cedrick of Pomona, CA. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Norma Minick, Louise Fiore, James, Robert, Richard, Roger and Clifford DeLaria. Allan is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Tuesday, May 1st at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
