Agnes Philomena Theresa (Casey) Cullen, 85, passed away on April 23, 2018 at the age of 85 years.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Eamonn; her daughters, Joan (Paul) and Susan; her sons, Brendan (Cindy) and Philip (Maureen). Agnes also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 unborn children and daughter, Monica. Agnes was born in Scotland on the 4th of April 1933 of Irish parents. Her parents returned to Ireland when she was very young.
Agnes was educated in Ireland and worked as a shop assistant for a number of years. She met her husband, Eamonn at a dance academy, became dancing partners and married him in August 1954. In 1958, she immigrated to England with her husband and 2 children. In 1960, she travelled and lived in the Far East for the next 14 years and was blessed with 3 more children. She played golf in Singapore and taught kindergarten in Hong Kong. In 1974, she came to the USA, from India, with her husband and 5 children. She worked at the Shively Bacon's Department Store.
Agnes had many great qualities and skills. First and foremost, she was a wonderful wife and mother. She was an excellent cook, a great hostess and was very talented at crafts.
She was a faithful Catholic Christian, active in the pro-life cause, and a longtime member of St. Louis Bertrand Church. She was a lector, sacristan, assisted in the RCIA process, and ministered as an EME at Trenton Oak Towers for many years. She is greatly missed by many people.
Visitation will be from 4-8pm Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
Her Funeral Mass will be at St. Louis Bertrand Church, 1104 South Sixth Street, Louisville, KY on Friday at 9:30am.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Baxter Avenue, Louisville.
