Obituary



BAR MILLS- Marilyn B. Bartlett, age 92, passed away on April 24, 2018 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House.

She was born in Buxton on Feb. 28, 1926, a daughter of the late Earl and Annie (Randall) Harmon.

Marilyn graduated from S.D. Hanson High School in 1943 and went on to further her education at Gray’s Business School.

For nearly all her working years, Marilyn was employed as a pricing clerk at J.E. Goold in Portland and worked briefly for Suburban Propane.

She was a 70+ year member of the Grange, was a recipient of the Golden Sheaf Award and served as secretary over the years. She was a member of the Buxton Grange and later was a member of Mt. Etna Grange in Baldwin after the two Granges merged. She was also a longtime member of the Buxton-Hollis Historical Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Marilyn enjoyed genealogy and getting out and around to different activities. She enjoyed the Senior Luncheon at St. Anne’s in Gorham, going on rides to Kennebunk Beach and attending the annual flower show in Portland. She especially enjoyed this year’s show.

She is predeceased by her husband- Archie Bartlett in 1990; and her siblings- Harold Harmon and Ellen Palmer.

Marilyn is survived by her son- Jon Bartlett and his wife Elisa of Bar Mills; step son- Charles Bartlett and his wife Christine of Hollis; five grandchildren- Steve, Eric, Carolyn, Debbie, and Tracy; eleven great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday May 6 at 1 PM at Arundel Cemetery in Kennebunkport. Rev. George Van Syckel, Chaplain will officiate.
