Germaine T. (Canuel) Gauthier, 86, formerly of Berlin, NH, passed away on Friday April 20, 2018 at the Belknap County Nursing Home in Laconia, NH, after a long illness. She was born in Berlin, NH on March 23, 1932 the daughter of Philippe and Marie (Dion) Canuel and had lived most of her life in Berlin. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a stitcher for Gamm, Inc. Germaine was a member of Holy Family Church in Gorham. The family would like to thank everyone at the Belknap County Nursing Home for taking such good care of “Junie Bug” for the past 11 years.
Members of the family include her son Arthur Descoteaux of Key West, FL; her step daughter Kimberly G. Gauthier of Center Harbor, NH; a grandson Jared; sisters Juliette Aalberg of Albertlea, MN, Yvonne Camillocci of Tyler, TX and Louise Corkum of Anchorage, AK; nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her first husband Omer Descoteaux, her second husband Leodore Gauthier, a son Philippe Descoteaux and siblings Jeannette Ayotte and Julien Canuel.
Private funeral services will be held at the Bryant Funeral Home, Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Online guestbook at www.bryantfuneralhome.net.
