SCHNEIDER - Edward E. Schneider, 88, passed away Tuesday morning, April 24, 2018 at his St. Marys residence.
He was born February 9, 1930 in Chillicothe, MO and moved to St,. Marys, GA three years ago from Fort Morgan, CO.
Before his retirement, Mr. Schneider was an insurance agent and owned his own agency. He was truly a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was always involved in his children's and grandchildren's activities. He also enjoyed golfing and gambling in Las Vegas.
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Kathryn Griffin Schneider, and a brother, Allen Schneider.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Fran Schneider; a daughter, Laurie Delano (Bill); two sons, Scott Schneider and Mark Schneider (Diana); a sister in law, Shirley Schneider; seven grandchildren, Jodi Watkowski (Adam), Holly Rice (Evan), Sara Melvin (Bradley), Kailee Morgan (Garrett), Brieana Schneider, Marcie Schneider, and Chris Della Cava (Kerry); and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday May 1, at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218. Those attending should arrive 20 - 30 minutes in advance and assemble in Lane number 2. Military Honors will be provided by the U. S. Army.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Golden Isle, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525.
