Obituary

Robert William McQuillan, 91, of Wayland, formerly of Auburndale, died peacefully on Sunday, April 22. “Bob” was born in Lynn, MA, the son of the late Edward and Kathleen (Wellington) McQuillan. He was formerly the Assistant Treasurer for Financial Benefits at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he worked for 32 years. He was also a Korean War veteran. Bob loved golfing, tennis, traveling, reading, and opera. Along with Gladys, his late wife of 63 years, he also enjoyed volunteering at the Auburndale Library for many years. Most of all, Bob loved spending time with his devoted wife, children, and grandchildren.

He is survived by his son Brian McQuillan and his wife Valerie of Natick, daughters Louise Kirby and her husband Jack of Maryland, Brenda Pecevich and her husband David of Connecticut, Lynda McQuillan of Natick, and beloved grandchildren Christina and Meghan Kirby, Jennifer and Carolyn McQuillan, Mitchell, Devin and wife Tiffany, and Kyle Pecevich, and Justin Pacheco. He is also survived by his brothers Paul and William McQuillan and many nieces and nephews.

The family welcomes you to a memorial service on Saturday, April 28th at 11AM. It will be held at the United Parish of Auburndale, 64 Hancock St., Newton (Auburndale), MA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Bob to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org or to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org.
