Obituary

Chichester-----Patricia C. (Reilly) Roberts, 78, died peacefully at her home in Chichester on April 20, 2018 with her husband, Don, at her bedside, ending her long struggle with dementia. A retired teacher, Pat and her husband moved to New Hampshire in 2006.

Pat, the daughter of George and Mary Brady Reilly, grew up in Forest Hills and Mount Vernon, N.Y. She graduated from the College of New Rochelle and earned her M.A. at Cardinal Stritch College in Milwaukee. As a member of the Ursuline Order, she taught at schools in Bethesda, Md., and the Bronx, and was Principal of Notre Dame School in Malone, N.Y. After leaving the Ursulines in 1974, she taught at schools in the Albany, N.Y., area and later worked for the Social Services office of the Albany Diocese. She and her family moved to Virginia in 1991, where she worked as a Reading Specialist for the Fairfax County Public Schools until retiring in 2002.

Pat had a love for reading and working with children. She was also active in her church communities and over the years served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister, Liturgy Team member, RCIA Coordinator, and religious educator. She was always proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed several trips to Ireland, visiting many cousins there. She traveled as well to various parts of the United States, often seeing friends or relatives on her journeys.

Pat is survived by her husband of almost 43 years, Donald Roberts; two daughters, Karyl Martin and her husband Andrew, of Nottingham, and Lori Ciaramella and her husband Jason, of Broad Run, Virginia; and four grandchildren: Willis, Lucas and Kaitlyn Martin, and Marissa Ciaramella. She would have cherished welcoming her fifth grandchild this summer. She also leaves a brother, George Reilly, and his wife Kathy, in South Carolina; two nieces and a nephew.

The family is especially grateful for the assistance and attention provided by the Concord Regional VNA through their Hospice program since last October, as well as workers at various Concord Hospital affiliates, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, and the Epsom Healthcare Center, who treated Pat over the past years.
