New Bedford – Maria A. Ferreira age 86, of New Bedford , passed away on April 20, 2018 at home with her family at her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Ramiro A. Ferreira and daughter of the late Joaquina (Batista) and Alfredo Vicente.
She was born in Alqueidao do Mato Santarem, Portugal and worked as a Seamstress at Alco Dress , Paul Modes and was a member of the Ladies Garment Union. Mrs Ferreira loved to be outside in her Garden and enjoyed cooking for her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Dulce Correia and her husband Diomar; son, Joseph Ferreira; grandchildren, Michael J. Correia and his fiancé, Heidi and Leonard F. Correia; her sister in law, Elvira Bento; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.
Maria’s visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday morning at Perry Funeral Home, beginning at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in St John Cemetery.
