Mary Ann Hand York, 83, of Rebecca passed away Saturday, April 21, 2018, at her residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. York at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Forest Park, where she will be laid to rest. Barbara McFall with the Eastern Star will give a eulogy. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 24, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born July 17, 1934 in Brookfield, Mrs. York was the daughter of the late Henry Dennis Hand and Ethel Mae Mason Hand. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James York; and one brother, George Hand. Before retiring, she worked in the shipping department at Owens Illinois Glass Company. She was a member of the Eastern Star, loved to bake and was of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. York is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Valerie York of Rebecca; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Dennis Hand and Lewis and Betty Hand, all of Jasper, Florida; and three grandsons, James York, Robbie York and David York.
