Obituary

Jesse B. Walker, Jr., 56, of Berkley, died April 19, 2018 peacefully at home surrounded by his family after a courageous fight with cancer. He was the husband of Rebecca M. Walker.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Alice Tolentino and Jesse Walker, he lived in New Bedford and Fairhaven most of his life before moving to Berkley.
Jesse was a member of the Christian Fellowship Center and Hope Evangelical Community Church.
He was formerly employed as a court officer in New Bedford, Fall River and Taunton for many years until his retirement.
Jesse had an infectious smile with a personality that was felt throughout the room. He enjoyed singing and playing bass with the worship team at church and he was a HUGE Dallas Cowboys fan.
Survivors include his wife; 3 sons, Chad Medeiros and his wife Amy of New Bedford, Jesse B. Walker, III and his companion Ashley Atkinson of Fairhaven and Nathan Howe of Berkley; 2 daughters, Arianne Walker of New Bedford and Emily Howe of Berkley; a brother, LaShawn Tolentino of Fall River; 5 sisters, Carmen Gamboa, Robin Stringer and Tracy Fontes, all of New Bedford, LaKachia Tolentino and KaTrina Tolentino, both of Rhode Island; 2 grandchildren, Adrienne and Layla; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was the father of the late Tiffanie Walker and the brother of the late Grant Woodard.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday April 23, 2018 at 10 AM in the Christian Fellowship Center, 822 Church St., New Bedford. Burial is private. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday April 22, 2018 from 3-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
