Yvette C. Leighton, 70, of Berlin, passed away on Tuesday April 17, 2018 at Havenwood in Concord, NH, after a peaceful day with her children. She was born in Berlin on February 20, 1948 the daughter of Auguste and Loretta R. (Dumesnil) Sequin and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Notre Dame High School and from nursing school in Boston, MA. Yvette had been employed as a Registered Nurse for the City of Berlin Health Department from 1988-2016, retiring as a Nursing Supervisor. She was an avid sports fan who loved fantasy football, spoiling her grandchildren, watching the Red Sox on her deck and the Patriots. She also loved the beach, especially Old Orchard, loved the singer Ed Sheeran and will be known for Memere’s Mai Tai’s.
Family includes her son Ryan Leighton of Berlin, NH; daughters Courtney Leighton and boyfriend Adam Woodall of Laconia, NH and Meredith Leighton and boyfriend Brian Cloutier of Franklin, NH and grandchildren Tyler, Brady, Ellie and Ryder. She was predeceased by her husband Roland Leighton.
Graveside Services will be held on Monday May 7, 2018 at 11 AM at the New City Cemetery in Berlin. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin on Sunday May 6 from 11 AM to 1 PM. All are invited to a celebration of life at the White Mountain Chalet following the calling hours. In lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes may conduct an act of kindness to someone in her memory.
