Obituary

AUBURN_____Therese Florence (Morin) Lawson 94, died Monday April 16, 2018 in St. Vincent Hospital Worcester.
She leaves a son, Peter K. Lawson and his wife Marian of Grafton; six grandchildren, Matthew Gianfriddo and his wife Keiko of Woodstock, CT., Jason Gianfriddo of Spencer; Sarah Gianfriddo of Cambridge and Darcy Fraser and her husband Daryl of Damariscotta, ME., Peter O. Lawson and his wife Laurie of Novato, CA., and Rachel Phaneuf and her husband Timothy of Windham, ME, ten great-grandchildren, Josiah, Elizah, Noah, Joshua, Aria and Evan Gianfriddo, Carmella and Aysel Fraser and Addie Lou and Eleanore “Norah” Lawson, Her daughter Patricia Gianfriddo died in 1993. Therese also leaves her son-in-law Francis Gianfriddo and his wife Sandra and her sons Spencer and Stewart and her former granddaughter-in-law Heather, a sister-in-law, Therese Morin and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Therese was born and raised in Worcester, a daughter of the late Adelard P. and Corinne (Mousseau) Morin and has lived in Auburn for nearly 65 years. She was predeceased by her former husband, George A. Lawson and was also predeceased by five sisters and six brothers, Cecile Snow, Florence Lund Beatrice Cerasuolo, Doris Therrien, Rita Scott, Raymond, Roland, Edmond, Raoul, Adelard and Marcel Morin.

Mrs. Lawson retired in 1999 as a Grant Accountant in School Fiscal Services at the University of Massachusetts Medical School where she worked for 21 years. While at the Medical School she served on the Classified Employee Committee and the Primetime & Award Recognition Committee. Before working for the Medical School Therese worked 7 years for O’Coins Furniture. Mrs. Lawson was also the Assistant Secretary of the American Business Women’s Association and was the Assistant Treasurer of the West Auburn Civic League, She was a youth and adult member of the Girl Scouts of America. She attended Worcester Schools including St. Joseph’s Parochial School, Grafton Street Jr. High School, Commerce High School, and Worcester State College. Therese was a former member of St. Joseph Church, Auburn. Therese’s life was centered around family. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed most sports especially golf. Therese is grateful for her strong faith helping her through life’s hurdles and for all the many beautiful memories.

The funeral will be held on Friday April 20, 2018, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 A.M. in St. Joseph Church at Holy Family Parish, 35 Hamilton Street, Worcester. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 .PM.
