Mario Federico of Medford died on Monday, April 16. Born and raised in Sulmona, Aquila, Italy, he was the son of the late Antonio and Anna Felicia Federico. Mario emigrated from Italy in 1946, and settled in Boston's North End before moving to Medford in 1974.
Mario was the beloved husband of the late Emilia Federico, and devoted father of Yvonne Ricci of Medford and her late husband Ascenzo "Enzo." He was the loving grandfather of Danielle O'Brien and her husband Kevin of Stoneham, and Damien Ricci and his wife Melissa of Quincy. Mario was the loving great grandfather of Nicholas, Emily, Natalie and Caitlin O'Brien, and Colette and Thalia Ricci. He was the brother of the late Alfredo Federico and the late Emilia DiFonte, and is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Saturday, April 21 at 10:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden. Visiting hours Friday, April 20, from 4 through 8 PM.
