Florence V. (Vieira) Marshall, 101, of New Bedford passed away peacefully at home on Sunday April 15, 2018 after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Paul E. Marshall.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel G. Vieira, Jr. and Mary (Hale) Vieira, she lived in New Bedford all of her life. She was a graduate of New Bedford High School.
She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
Mrs. Marshall was formerly employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Dept. of Public Welfare as a social service administrative technician until her retirement.
She was a member of the Y.M.C.A and the Guard of Honor Society at St. Lawrence Church. She enjoyed bowling and swimming.
She is survived by three daughters, Joan Dean and her partner Dawn Brocklehurst of Port Charlotte, FL, Sheila Marshall of Fairhaven, and Mary Ann Marshall Valair of Danvers; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Helen V. Furtado and Joseph A. Vieira.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday April 20, 2018 at 10 AM at St. Lawrence Church. Burial in St. John's Cemetery will be private. Visiting hours are omitted.
