Obituary

Albert Peter Van Herpe, 88, of Lakeview Drive, Chepachet died Friday, April 13th surrounded by his family in RI Hospital Providence. He was the husband of the late Armanda Marie (Vanaudenhove) Van Herpe. They had been married for 56 years before she passed in 2005.

Born in Simcoe, Ontario, Canada, he was the son of the late Michel and Zulma (Sandrope) Van Herpe. He had lived in Pawtucket before moving to Chepachet in 1972. He was a Master Woodworker and Cabinet Maker and Founder of the Van & Company in Pawtucket, RI.

Albert was an amateur radio operator, W1CPC (Chicken Pox Charlie). He was the founder of PAR (Providence Amateur Radio). He had been a former member of the Pawtucket Water Board, a member of the Keech Pond Association, Treasurer at the Glocester Senior Center. He had also volunteered at the Little Sisters of the Poor in Pawtucket.

He is survived by his daughter Joan M. Greene and her husband, Stephen of Pawtucket and a son Robert L. Van Herpe and his wife Maureen of Chepachet. He also leaves his 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

His Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Visitation Wednesday 4-7pm. Burial Highland Park, Johnston. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, 964 Main St, Pawtucket, RI 02860 Little Sisters of the Poor
