Obituary

Michael Christopher Kelly, age 93, of Milton, MA, formerly of Ireland, passed away peacefully at home in the company of his loving family on April 13, 2018.
Michael grew up in Ballindereen, Kilcolgan, Co. Galway, Ireland. At the age of 17 he left home and went to Birmingham, England. He worked as a Painter, not only in Birmingham, but also all around England. It was there that he met and married Julia Clancy from Moycullen, Co. Galway. Together they had a great life in Birmingham. At the age of 40 he emigrated to the United States and settled with his wife, Julia and son, Martin in Milton, MA. He carried on as a self employed Painter and was a 50 year resident of Milton. Mr. Kelly could be found working on his property or helping those in need. Many evenings were spent with friends, stopping in for a cup of tea and Julia's homemade brown bread. He spent the last months of his life living with his son, Martin and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth in Hanover. Michael loved all things Irish. He maintained close ties with both Ballindereen and Moycullen and traveled back to Ireland every year.
The beloved husband of the late Julia Agnes (Clancy) Kelly and devoted father of Martin F. Kelly and his wife Elizabeth of Hanover, he was also the dear brother of Mary Fahy of England and the late Delia, Agnes, and Nora Kelly. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory Church, Dorchester, MA on Saturday morning, April 21, 2018 at 10 am. Visiting hours are omitted. His Interment at Milton Cemetery will be private.
