Obituary

Anna M. (Iacozzi) DiFronzo, of Medford, formerly of Boston’s North End, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, April 14th. She was 85.

Born and raised in Boston’s North End, Anna was the daughter of the late Victor and Concetta (DiCesare) Iacozzi. Anna attended the Michelangelo Elementary School and the Practical Arts Academy High School, both in Boston’s North End. She graduated high school with the Class of 1950.

Anna was both a homemaker and a technician for Raytheon, where she worked for many years. Anna was a hard working person and enjoyed being active. After her retirement, she spent much of her time with her grandchildren playing games and cards. Family was the most important part of Anna’s life. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for family and friends. Anna was a true caretaker in every sense, and was a person that could be relied on by others.

In Anna’s spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She was a simple woman, who enjoyed the little things in life. Anna was happy to take car rides and day trips if the opportunity arose, and was an avid beach goer. Anna loved swimming and being in the sun.

Anna was the beloved wife of the late Americo R. DiFronzo, who passed away in 1982. The two were married on October 6, 1962 at St. Stephen’s Church, in Boston’s North End. Together they shared twenty years of loving marriage. She was the devoted mother of Constance Cieri and her late husband Federico of Medford, Christine Kelly and her husband Thomas of Acton, Americo "Rick" D. DiFronzo and his wife Laura of Tewksbury, Andrea Mauras of Saugus, Richard DiFronzo and his wife Tracey of Medford. Anna was the loving grandmother of Brian and Gina Kelly, Americo "Rico" and the late Lia DiFronzo, Marianna and Mira Mauras. She is also survived by many loving extended family members.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Thursday, April 19th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 - 8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
