Obituary

Mrs. Madeline C. (Goodwin) Mros, of Taunton, entered into rest Thursday, April 12 at her home following a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Sidney S. Mros. She was born 97 years ago in Boston, the daughter of the late Harold and Hildred (Driscoll) Goodwin. She was educated in Boston and had been a Taunton resident for the past 73 years. A homemaker, Madeline was a member of the former Immaculate Conception Church Women’s Guild and was a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed reading, jigsaw puzzles, traveling, especially cruises, and spending time with her family. She was a communicant of the former Immaculate Conception Parish in Taunton.

She leaves: 3 daughters: Linda Mros of Taunton, Sandra Mros, and her companion, Mario Oliveira of Taunton, and Karen McKillop and her husband, David of Lakeville; 3 granddaughters: Amy McKillop of Vt., Wendy McKillop-Slagle and her husband, Theo of Washington, D.C., and Kristy McKillop and her fiancé, Jason DiCesare and his son, Lawson of Weymouth; 1 great grandson: Teddy Slagle; 1 sister-in-law: Margaret Goodwin of Quincy; a dear family friend: Nancy Lingelbach; her spotted friend, “Annie” and several nieces and nephews. Madeline was also the mother of the late Dianne Bonenfant of Taunton, and the sister of the late Clarence Goodwin and Evelyn Burke, both of Boston, and Hildred Buzby of Taunton.

Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Tuesday, April 17 at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the Holy Rosary Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Visiting Hour will be held prior to the funeral, Tuesday, from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M.
