Mario J. DeMinico, 82 of Whitman, passed away on Monday April 9th surrounded by his family at home. He was the beloved husband of 56 years to Jane (Barry) DeMinico.
He was born in Hanson, son of the late Sabato and Fenicola DeMinico.
Mario grew up in Hanson, was a graduate of Whitman High School, and was a proud Veteran of the US Navy having served from 1954 to 1958.
Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a Tool + Die maker for Sigma Instruments for many years.
Mario loved the outdoors and enjoyed golf, camping, sail boating and horse shoes.
In addition to his wife of 56 years Jane, he is survived by his children, Gary DeMinico and his wife Paula of Abington, David DeMinico and his wife Kathi, and Tracy Thompson and her husband Jerry of Hanson, his sister Melly Eaton of Hanson. Papa to Mario, Jerry, Brody, Kyle, Marena, Rylee and Kendyl; also several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph DeMinico.
His funeral service will be held Monday April 16 at 8:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. Burial will follow in the St. James Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Sunday April 15 from 2:00-6:00 PM.
