ROBERT A. EGAN

MAYNARD: Robert Alfred “Red” Egan, 82, died peacefully with his family at his side on Saturday, April 7, 2018 following a period of declining health.

He was born in Framingham on May 2, 1935 the son of the late William H. Egan and Marie K. (Hussey) Egan.
Red is survived by children William Egan and his wife Melissa of Maynard; John Egan and his wife Rosileia of Leominster; Robert Egan, Jr. of Worcester and Maria Kate Lundberg and her husband Christopher of Hudson. Also survived by four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late James “Bud” Egan, Thomas Egan, William K. Egan, Sr., and Marie G. “Sis” McKinney.

Red spent his formative years in Wayland and the last 10 years in Maynard. He graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1953. He served his country proudly and with honor during the Korean Conflict with the United States Marine Corps. For many years, prior to retiring, he was a Truck Driver with Global Services. Red was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 25, an active member and on the Board of Trustee’s for the Waltham VFW, a member of the American Legion of Maynard and the AMVETS in Hudson.

Visitations will be held on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte. 30), Wayland.

His Prayer Service will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10:30 am at the funeral home with Deacon John Pepi from St. Bridget’s Church in Maynard.
Interment will follow in the Egan family lot in North Cemetery in Wayland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in his memory may be sent to the American Legion Post 235 Honor Flight, c/o William Egan, 103 Summer St, Maynard, MA 01754.
