New Bedford – Bernice Carreiro, age 93 of New Bedford, passed away March 30 4, 2018 at The New Bedfor Jewish Convelescent Home. She was the wife of the late Antone Carreiro.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ethel (Simpkins) Brown. She lived in New Bedford all her life and worked as a Seamstress in various clothing factories until her retirement. Bernice enjoyed reading in her pastime.
She is survived by 3 sons, David Carreiro and his wife Kathleen of New Bedford, Steven Carreiro and his wife Rosemarie of Dartmouth, and Anthony Carreiro of New Bedford. She was also the sister of the late Joseph Brown.
A memorial mass with Bernice’s ashes will take place on Tuesday April 10th at 12:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe at St. James Church in New Bedford. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church.
