Mrs. Rose A. (Olson) Chioccariello, a longtime resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Bernard C. Chioccariello, passed away at the Lahey-Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Thursday, April 5, 2018. She was 79 years old.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on November 29, 1938, she was the beloved daughter of the late Charles and Gladys (Greenleaf) Olson. In her spare time, Rose enjoyed crocheting, refinishing furniture and gardening around her home. She also was an avid reader and loved reading poetry. Above all, Rose was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving children; Arlene R. and her husband Michael T. Maloney of Wilmington, John B. and his wife Jacqueline M. Chioccariello of Arlington and Carl D. and his wife Jennifer L. Chioccariello of Wilmington, grandchildren; Michael, Emily, Patrick, Haley, Paul and Charles, siblings; George and his wife Nancy Olson of Florida, Kathleen Cianci of Wakefield, Evelyn and her husband Stan Brown of Bradenton, Florida and James and his wife Barbara Olson of Southwick, sister-in-law; Dominica “Minnie” Costin of Winthrop and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister-in-law of the late Kay Olson and Corvin Cianci, Raphaella “Chickie” Gardinella, Mary Fantasia and John and Jenny Chioccariello.
Her Funeral Service will be privately held. For those invited, visiting hours will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, from 4 to 7 PM. Service will follow at 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rose’s memory may be made to the MSPCA 350 Huntington Avenue, Jamaica Plain, MA 02130.
