Obituary

Mildred C. Cribben, age 90, lifelong of Brockton, died peacefully, April 4, 2018 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Julia A. (Hunt) Cribben. Mildred was a graduate of Brockton High School and Brockton Business School. For 15 years, she was a clerk in the Probate Court in Brockton, and for over 30 years was a secretary for A&P Supermarkets in the Boston office. She was spirited, generous, loving, and very devoted to her family and faith. Mildred was the family’s matriarch and historian and was like a second mother to her many nephews and nieces. She was very talented in the crafts, including knitting, crocheting hats and scarfs for the homeless, quilting and cross-stitch. She also enjoyed traveling with her family to Ireland and other European countries, Canada and throughout the United States. She was a member of the Jr. 20th Century Catholic Women’s Guild, 20th Century Catholic Women’s Guild, Sons of Italy Bowling League, Stonehill Women’s Guild, Irelands Own and Brockton Council on Aging.

Mildred is survived by her sister Ellen Cribben of Brockton and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late James, John, William, Gerald, Harold, Ralph, Lawrence and Richard Cribben.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Sunday, April 8, 2-5pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Monday at 8am for a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
