Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy (Correia) Guillemette, of Taunton, entered into rest Wednesday, April 4 in Marian Manor following a period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of Henry J. Guillemette. She was born 88 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late John T. and Maria (DeConceicao) Correia. She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, Dorothy had been employed as an Attendant at the former Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton. She enjoyed being a homemaker, knitting, and was an avid fan of all the New England sports teams, especially the New England Patriots. She was a communicant of the former St. Joseph’s Parish in Taunton.

In addition to her husband, she leaves: 1 daughter: Catherine M. Perry of Taunton; 1 sister: Mary C. Perry and her husband Elmer R. of Taunton; 2 brothers-in-law: Roger Guillemette of No. Dighton and Adelard Guillemette of Taunton; 2 grandchildren: Jason E. Cardin and Daniel R. Cardin, both of Taunton; 2 great grandchildren: Kaitey Edgell-Cardin and Daniel R. Cardin, and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was also the sister of the late Joseph R. Correia of East Taunton.

Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Monday, April 9 at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in the Mass. National Cemetery, Bourne. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday, from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, Ma., 02452.
