Obituary

WEST BOYLSTON- Joseph (Joey, Joe, Rook) R. McMahon, 27, tragically succumbed to his addiction on Tuesday March 27, 2018, but he was much more than an addict and that is what needs to be remembered. He was a father, son, brother and an instant friend to all that met him.

He was born in Stoughton, Massachusetts on December 20, 1990 a son to Michael McMahon and Melanie (Punch) Swalec. From a young age, Joe was an extreme sports fan on both the college and professional levels and could remember more stats than seemed humanly possible. He was a talented golfer and went on to become a popular and frequently requested golf caddie at TGC at Sacconnesset and other courses he worked. He had a vibrant personality, a quick-witted sense of humor, an infectious smile and laugh that his family and friends will never forget. He had a strong passion for music, attending concerts and live shows and most recently was learning to play the guitar. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his amazing son, Rory. For the past few years Joe was employed by Sweet Meadow Feed and Grain in Sherborn as a delivery driver where he made a friend at each stop.

His true potential was sadly never reached; however, his family wants you to remember that Joey gave life his absolute best and that is something to be cherished forever.

He will always be loved and missed by his son, Rory Michael McMahon; his mother, Melanie Swalec and her husband, Thomas of West Boylston; his father, Michael McMahon and his wife, Peggy of E. Falmouth; a brother, James (Jim) McMahon of E. Falmouth; his Nana, Sandra Pouliot of Little River, SC; Rory’s mother, Shauna Digaetano of E. Falmouth; his loving girlfriend, Rachel Kersey of Lunenburg; many aunts and uncles, cousins and countless people that he befriended during his short time on this earth.

Family and friends will gather to honor, remember and celebrate his life on Sunday, April 8th from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Rory Michael McMahon Memorial Fund c/o Clinton Savings Bank, 306 West Boylston St., West Boylston, MA 01583.
