Sylvia Marie Porter-Wann, 82, of Ojai, California passed away on April 2, 2018 in Ojai. Sylvia was born on October 15, 1935 in Ventura, California to Beulah and William Porter. She graduated from Ventura High School and attended Ventura Beauty School. She grew up working in her mother's beauty salon and held a cosmetology license until her death.
In 1956 she studied Psychology at the University of California and went on to study at the University of Oregon and the University of San Francisco, Sylvia worked for over 40 years as a clinical director and hospital administrator for the State of California.
In 1990, she married Arthur Ray Wann, her high school sweetheart. They owned a small novelty and jewelry store in Galt, California. They loved travelling together to Oregon, Yellowstone National Park, and other locations. While traveling they visited family and spent time fishing. In her later life when she was no longer able to travel, she enjoyed working on crossword puzzles and having family and friends visit in her home.
