Mary (Nett) Sanborn Pedi, a lifelong resident of Woburn passed away peacefully, Easter Sunday, April 1, 2018, at the Woburn Nursing Center following a lengthy period of declining health. She was 90 years of age. Mary was the beloved wife of the late Chester "Chet" Sanborn and Anthony "Tony" Pedi. Born in Woburn she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Coccolutto) Nett.
Mary was a graduate of Woburn High School and for several years following her graduation she worked as a telephone operator. Once her children were born, Mary continued working for many years as a Manager selling Avon Products until her retirement. Devoted to family, Mary was an active mother and especially a true "hockey mom" attending all of her son's games as they were growing up. Tragically her son David was killed after an accident while he was away on a youth hockey trip.
Mary met her second husband Tony while attending a widow and widowers dance. He won her heart after serenading her with a song. During their retirement years they spent the winter months in Interlachen, Florida where they had many wonderful friends they got to know over the years. Mary was a Woman of strong faith and was always active and involved with her church both in Florida and here in Woburn. She enjoyed and was an avid bingo player. In more recent years she spent much time with her many friends and workers at the Davita Dialysis Center. Mary's greatest joy was her family. Nothing made her happier than to be surrounded by those she loved. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her late parents, husbands and son, Mary is sadly predeceased by her brothers, Anthony, Dominic and Frank Nett. She is survived by her children, Linda Sanborn of Woburn, Mark Sanborn and his wife Claire of Woburn, and Arlene O'Melia and her husband John of Wilmington. She was the loving grandmother of Lori Chesley, Robert McHugh, James McHugh, Amy Pratt and her husband Rob, Eric O'Melia and his wife Tina, Colleen, Paul, and Michael Sanborn, Brian Sanborn and his wife Courtney, Allison Bennett and her husband Patrick., and the late Shawn McHugh. Loving great grandmother of Ashley McHugh, Justin Chesley, Vanessa McHugh, Shawn Morello, Allysa and Tyler Pratt, Jolene and Shayne Bennett, Carter and Brooke Sanborn, Aaron, Joshua, Cheyanne and Faith O'Melia and the late Mark Chesley. Loving great great grandmother of Jayden Chesley. She is also survived by many stepchildren, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Sister of Angelina DeLetter, Carolyn Agostino, Joseph Nett.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Friday, April 6th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
