Obituary

John “Jack” Brady Sr., age 79, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at home
surrounded by his loving family and precious cat Keno by his side. Jack was born and
raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts, attended Lawrence Public Schools and retired from
the Lawrence Housing Authority as a painter.
One of Jack’s favorite pastimes was playing his lifelong friend, Jack O’Leary, in
afternoon cribbage. Jack was an avid card player and always enjoyed a challenging
game of 45s (railroad), and poker. Jack was a member of the Methuen VFW 8349,
where he was known as the “Keno King”. He was a multi-talented musician and most
of all loved entertaining his family playing his guitar and harmonica, in addition
to playing many instruments, one of his greatest accomplishment was the song he
wrote for his loving wife, “Please Believe in me Marie”. In the summer months Jack
could be found vacationing with his family at Salisbury Beach or at home by the
pool with his three labrador retrievers, Bailey, Lacey, and Pal by his side, and
spending time with friends, new and old.
Jack was predeceased by his loving wife of 50 years, Maria (Lemieux) Brady, and is
survived by his, sister, Carol O’Leary, brother, Dave Duemmling, brother-in-law,
Gary and his wife Joanne Lemieux, sister-in-law, Jeannette and husband Roger
LaPlume, brother-in-law, Billy Lemieux and significant other, Jean Soucy; five
children, Jack Brady Jr., Donna and her husband Ernie Desrocher, Debbie and her
husband Bobby Nadeau, Michael “Mickey” Brady, Diane Brady and her significant other
Dennis Valley; six grandchildren David, Ryan, Jessica, Amy, Amanda, Kristopher;
eight great-grandchildren; and longtime family friend David Dion. He will sadly be
missed by his many nieces, nephews, and friends that he loved and adored. He will
be forever remembered as the beloved “Papa Jack”.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 9AM on Wednesday, April 4, at Edgar
J. Racicot Funeral Home, Dracut, MA. Burial will follow in Immaculate Conception
Cemetery, Lawrence, MA. Family and friends are respectfully welcomed to call on
Tuesday, April 3, from 4PM to 7PM at Edgar J. Racicot Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway
Road, Dracut, MA.
