Mrs. Doris Evelyn Brand (née Carlson) died unexpectedly on March 26, 2018 in Natick, Massachusetts at the age of 71.
Loving wife of 48 years to Thomas J. Brand, doting mother of Chris (Tiffany) Brand and Suzanne Brand, adoring sister of the late Roger (Bill Wilson) Carlson, and loving daughter of the late Helen and Otto Carlson.
Doris was born on May 18, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois to John Otto and Helen Edith Evelyn Carlson. A second generation American, Doris was proud of her Swedish heritage. She graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1964 and subsequently graduated from Moser Secretarial School. She married Tom, her high school sweetheart and mechanical engineer, in 1969. They later relocated to South Bend, Indiana, Farmington Hills, Michigan and Natick, Massachusetts. Doris worked as an Administrative Assistant for several brokerage firms over the course of her career, most recently at Stifel in Wellesley, Massachusetts. She was an active and social member of her church, in particular with altar guild and coffee hour. A lifelong animal lover, Doris was particularly fond of dogs, cats, ducks and elephants.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on April 8, 2018 at Christ Lutheran Church in Natick, Massachusetts, with a reception to follow. Pastor Rebecca Bourret will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Doris’ life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the American Heart Association or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
