Obituary

Janet Ruth (Allen) Picard, 73 of Lawrence passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill. The daughter of the late Verne Allen and Anne Elizabeth Blunt she was born in Kansas City, MO on November 26, 1944. Mrs. Picard was a hard worker her entire life, she retired from Pacific Packaging Products after 34 years of dedicated service. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and crochet. She was a fond collector of numerous memorabilia and a friend to animals in need. Mrs. Picard loved spending time with her family; she especially loved to be with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Picard was predeceased by her husband, James H. Picard, two brothers; George Allen and Lee Allen, and one grandson; James “JP” Picard. She is survived by her daughters, Sandy J. Picard and Maryan (Picard) Augusta. Three sisters; Maryan Norman, KJ Blunt, and Marilyn Giglio; five grandchildren; Nicole, Steven, Amanda, Kayley and Joshua Picard and two great-grandchildren; Donell Boykins and Reina Puga, and several nieces and nephews. The Picard family would like to thank the staff of High Pointe Hospice House, for the excellent care of their mother. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Edgar J. Racicot Inc. Funeral Home, 1400 Broadway Rd. Dracut, MA. Burial will be private.
