Mrs. Lorraine Louise (Wilford) Barefoot, of Taunton, entered into rest Saturday, March 24 at her residence following a period of declining health. She was born 93 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late Albion and Yvonne (Cote) Wilford. She was educated in Taunton and had been a lifelong city resident. Prior to her retirement, Lorraine had been employed as a Supervisor for the former Southern Mass. Telephone Co. for many years. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a communicant of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Taunton.
She leaves: 3 sons: Richard Barefoot of Taunton, Raymond Barefoot of Dighton, and William Barefoot of Fall River; 1 daughter: Elizabeth Schneiderman and her husband, Elliott of Calif., 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Lorraine was also the sister of the late Richard Wilford and Vivianne Tourigny, both of Taunton.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, on Wednesday, March 28 at 10:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Jude the Apostle Church as 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A Visiting Hour will be held prior to the Service, Wednesday, from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M.
