NATICK: Nancy Jean (Danforth) Costello, 89, died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by her loving family on Monday, March 19, 2018.
She was born in Waltham on August 17, 1928 the daughter of the late Marshall S. Danforth and Margaret A. (Stevenson) Danforth.
Nancy Jean is survived by her devoted and loving husband of 68 years, William F. “Bill” Costello of Natick. Beloved mother of Robert M. Costello and his wife Mary of Franklin; Kathleen Merrill and her husband Richard of Hudson and Thomas M. Costello of Natick. Cherished grandmother of Courtney and William Costello of Franklin. She was the sister of the late Marshall Danforth and Cynthia Wilson.
Nancy Jean spent her early years in Sudbury before moving to Wayland with her grandparents, Colonel Sam Stevenson and Helen Stevenson. She graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1946.
She and her husband Bill have resided in Natick for over 67 years. For many years, Nancy Jean was a Sales Associate and Cashier for J.M. Fields and Building 19 1/5 for 28 years. She enjoyed meeting new people and always had a smile on her face. She was a longtime communicant of St. Zepherin Church and contributed handmade crafts for the Annual Parish Fair with the ladies of the church. Nancy Jean will be missed by all who knew and loved her and the many lives that she touched.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte. 30), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 9:00 am followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin Church, 99 Main Street (Rte 27), Cochituate Village, Wayland.
Interment will follow at St. Zepherin Cemetery, Bent Avenue, Wayland.
In lieu of flowers, her family kindly suggests that memorial gifts in Nancy Jean’s name may be sent to Good Shepherd Parish.
