John A. "Jack" McKinnon, 79, of Westport peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, March 22, 2018 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Shelley M. (Gifford) McKinnon.
Mr. McKinnon was born in Detroit, MI, son of the late John and Kathleen (Brogan) McKinnon and had resided in Westport for over 20 years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Prior to his retirement, he worked for several Nissan car dealerships throughout Rhode Island. Mr. McKinnon was a huge NASCAR fan, enjoyed boating and loved his pet dogs.
Survivors along with his wife include his son: John A. McKinnon of N. Providence; his brother: Robert McKinnon of MI; his grandson: Christopher McKinnon; his sister-in-law: Lucille Stonis of Maynard, MA; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Keith D. McKinnon and brother of the late Kathleen, Mary, Mickey, Joseph and Erma.
Memorial visitation to which relatives and friends are invited will be Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Potter Funeral Home from 5-8 P.M.
Interment will be private.
