Obituary

John L “Jay” Santello, 58, originally of Natick passed away peacefully Monday March 19, 2018, after a courageous battle for many years with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis, at the Genesis Health Care center in Milford.

He leaves behind his much loved wife of 26 years Danielle M (Marcotte) Santello of Milford. He was the beloved father of Kayla N. Santello and her fiancé Eric Hadley of Charlestown, as well as Kelsey J Santello and her boyfriend Andrew Doppstadt of Durham, NH and Milford.

Born in Natick, and a Franklin resident of 18 years, he was the son of Ben Santello and his wife Patricia of Falmouth, and the late Marjorie (MacLeod) Santello.

Jay followed the family career tradition becoming a Master Plumber. He was the owner and operator of J Santello Plumbing & Heating Company of Franklin, where he raised his family on Island Road. He began working with his father at Ben Santello Plumbing and later worked at Nyacol Products.

He attended the Natick School system graduating from Natick High School class of 1978 and later attended Newbury College in Boston.

He was an avid golfer and played for many years in the Framingham Union Golf League. Jay was happiest taking trips to any tropical destination, cruising and enjoying the island lifestyle. Jay was a avid NE Patriot’s fan.

He is also survived by his siblings Bruce Santello and his wife Ester of Nashua NH, Peter Santello and his wife Gayle of Marion, Paul Santello and his wife Sharon of Berlin, Dana Santello of Ashland, sister in-law Heather of Dover, NH, Glen Santello of Northborough, Ben Santello and his wife Page of Londonderry NH, Margaret Sleeper and her partner Larry Smith of Natick, Pauline Santello of Marlboro, 30 nieces and nephews and 12 Great nieces and nephews.

He was also the brother of the late Steven Santello who died in May of 2017 and Richard Santello who died in July of 2017.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Tuesday March 27 at 10:00 A.M. in St Patrick’s Church.

Visiting hours are Monday March 26 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. in the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common.

Jay’s wish was to celebrate his life and the family asks attendees to be comfortable and casual by wearing Hawaiian shirts, bright colors and nothing somber.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory National Multiple Sclerosis Society Greater New England chapter.
