Cecelia A. "Gigi" Mazzone
Retired Burlington Eye Associates Office Administrator

TEWKSBURY: Cecelia A. "Gigi" (Donatelli) Mazzone, age 77, a resident of Tewksbury for 44 years, and devout communicant of St. Dorothy’s Church in Wilmington, passed away at home peacefully with her family and friends at her side on March 20th.

She was the beloved wife of Patrick Mazzone, with whom she celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on October 2, 2017.

Born in Boston on June 25, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Luigi Donatelli and the late Lucrezia (Mascis) Donatelli.

Cecelia was raised in Malden, attended Malden schools, and graduated from East Boston High School in 1958.

She and her husband resided in East Boston for many years until moving to Tewksbury in 1974.

Prior to her retirement, she worked as an Office Administrator for Burlington Eye Associates for over 20 years.

Cecelia enjoyed playing Bingo at the Tewksbury Elks where she made many friends. She especially enjoyed her Thursday night gatherings with the girls where she played cards and talked all night long. She loved cooking for her family and friends, and traveling with her husband, her best friend. Above all, she cherished attending her grandchildren’s activities and sporting events with her husband and got to know so many people.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Mark A. Mazzone and his wife Maria, Jeff Mazzone and his wife Brenda all of Methuen, and Patricia G. Fleming and her husband Daniel of Tewksbury; seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Christian, Cassandra, and Nyah Mazzone all of Methuen, Patrick, Daniel, and Ryan Fleming all of Tewksbury; cousins, Beatrice Dantona of Wakefield, Louis Aceto of Tewksbury, and Bernice Aceto of Woburn and many other family and friends. Cecelia was the cousin of the late Annette, John, and Francis Aceto.

Calling hours are Thursday March 22 from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin on Friday March 23 at 8:45 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Dorothy’s Church, cor. of Main & Harnden Sts., Wilmington.
