TEWKSBURY - Mrs. Mary A. Carbone, age 89, died peacefully, Monday morning, March 19, at the Apple Valley Center in Ayer, after a long period of declining health. She was the beloved wife for sixty-three years of the late Robert A. Carbone, who died in 2014.
She was born in Cambridge, one of five children of the late Anthony and Florence (Nardone) Mosca, and raised in Cambridge. Her earliest job was at Durand’s Chocolate factory in Cambridge. After her marriage to Bob in 1951, they lived in Cambridge and moved to Tewksbury in 1966, to raise their family. After her children had grown, she went back to work at Microwave Associates in Burlington, and finished her working days at Wal-Mart in Tewksbury, where she oversaw the greeting card department.
While she devoted her life to her family, she found time to relax by quilting, gardening and crocheting for her family. She also maintained an impressive doll collection.
She leaves four children, Robert A. “Rob” and his wife Lynn (Hayes) Carbone of Pepperell, Cheryl Carbone-Robichaud and her husband Matthew “Matt” of Hudson, NH, Lynn Marie Graham and her husband William “Bill” of Nottingham, NH, and Jean Marie Thomas and her husband Ricky of Nashua, NH; two granddaughters, Shaina Carbone of S.D., and Aubrey Guillotte of Nashua, NH; seven great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Louise Mosca of Somerville; many nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by her brothers, James Mosca, Nicholas Mosca, Carlo Mosca; and sister Angela Witt.
Relatives and friends will be received Monday, March 26, from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph.
