Scott E. Berglund, 56

Dateline: Norton, MA

Scott E. Berglund, age 56, of Norton, formerly of Norwood and Walpole, passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully at home on Monday, March 19, 2018. He was the beloved husband of Wendi L. (Valja) Berglund, to whom he was wed on October 3, 1992.

Born in Norwood, MA on April 20, 1961, he was a loving son of Sandra (MacDonald) Berglund of West Gardiner, Maine and the late Erling Berglund.

Scott grew up in Walpole and was a 1979 graduate of Walpole High School, where he played on the school hockey team. He had made his home in Norton for the past twenty years and had also resided in Norwood.

For the past five years, Scott had been employed as a shipping and receiving coordinator at Goodway Graphics in Burlington. He previously worked at the Petco and Star Market distribution centers.

Scott’s family was truly the focal point of his life. He was the former head coach of Norton Pop Warner Football, coached Norton Little League and especially loved coaching his sons sporting events.

Scott was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, enjoyed collecting and trading football cards and treasured a good cigar.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his devoted children Kristen Boynton and her husband Rich of North Attleboro, Erik Berglund of Norton and Andrew Berglund of Norton. He was the cherished grandfather of Kaylyn, Alexa and Dylan. He was the dear brother of Kris Berglund and his longtime girlfriend Joanna of Bath, Maine and the late Karl Berglund and Mark Berglund. He is also survived by his loving Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nephews and niece.

His funeral service, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, March 27th at 11:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will be private.

Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 26th from 4:00-8:00 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, Scott’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the Norton Ambulance Gift Account, 70 East Main St., Norton, MA 02766.
