Henry D. "Bo" Pierce, Jr., 89, of New Bedford passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Brandon Woods of New Bedford. He was the husband of Betty L. (Martin) Pierce, with whom he shared 71 years of marriage.
Mr. Pierce was born in Dartmouth, son of the late Henry and Bertha (Pasquille) Pierce. He had worked for Gulf Hill Dairy and later for Commonwealth Electric. A birthright Quaker, he was a quiet man who held no prejudice and was ever ready to help.
Along with his wife, survivors include his 2 sons: Martin E. Pierce and his wife Joanne and Kyle H. Pierce and his wife Susan; his sister: Grace Shaw of Castleton, NY; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Mark M. Pierce and Keven Ann Sweeney, great grandfather of the late Emma G. Coppellotti and brother of the late Edward Pierce.
At the request of the family, calling hours are respectfully omitted. A graveside committal service will be held in the Spring.
