FALL RIVER – John R. Maucione Jr., age 76 of Fall River, passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Charlton Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Fall River, he was the beloved husband of the late Geraldine (Paiva) Maucione and the son of the late John R. Maucione Sr. and Guilhermina (Anselmo) Maucione. Prior to retiring, John worked at Crystal Springs as the head maintenance man. He was an avid wood worker and a member of the “Gateway Turns”.
Survivors include his children: Lisa Reis and her husband Kent of Somerset, Linda Correira and her husband Michael of Fall River, & James John Maucione and his fiancée Shirley of Fall River; his nine grandchildren: Nicole, Matthew, Brandon, Ashley, Amanda, Stephanie, James Jr., Mercedes, and Marissa; and his three great grandchildren: Chace, Sophia, and Kaine.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John’s memory, can be made payable to the Nicole Podkowa Patient and Caregiver Assistance Fund c/o Southcoast Centers for Cancer Care, 206 Mill Rd., Fairhaven, MA 02790.
At the request of the family, John’s funeral service & burial will be private. Calling hours for the public will be held on Monday, March 19th from 4-8 P.M. in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River.
