Obituary

Jeanne B. (Lampron) Monahan, 89, a former resident of Quebec Canada and Dracut and Abington, Massachusetts, died Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Maple Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham. She was the beloved wife of George R. Monahan who died in 1974.

Born in Lowell on April 25, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Aurore (Lessard) Lampron. Due to the unexpected death of her mother, Jeanne was adopted when she was three by the Massicotte family in Abitibi Quebec who owned and operated a Coke dealership. She was quite close to her step sister Mariette.

Mrs. Monahan lived in Quebec Canada, Abington, and in her final years the Maples nursing home. Jeanne spoke English and French fluently. Her happiest times were spent playing the piano and singing surrounded by family and friends.

She was a receptionist at the Emmanuel House in Brockton during the 1990’s and was a faithful member of the Brockton Assembly of God church for several years.

Mrs. Monahan is survived by her two daughters, Jeanne Monahan, of Franklin, MA, and Maureen Monahan of West Brookfield, MA, one sister Therese, a half brother Andre, both of Canada, and the aunt of Benoit, Pierrette and Marc Thibault, Roger, Donald, and Brenda Lampron, and many other nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Cecile Thibault, Paulette Veillette, Rita Lampron and Jean “John”, Adelard, Joseph, Donat, Eugene and Jogues Lampron.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, March 24 from 1 - 3 p.m. in Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main Street in Franklin (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) followed by a service at 3 p.m.

Burial will take place privately at St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell.
