Dateline: Norton, MA

Diane R. (St, George) Mignacca, age 71, of Norton, passed away, in the presence of her loving family on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Boston Medical Center in Boston.

Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on February 4, 1947, she was a loving daughter of the late Hubert H. and Cecile A. (Laberge) St. George.

Diane grew up in Pawtucket, and the Hebronville section of Attleboro and was educated in Attleboro schools. She had made her home in Norton for the past fifty years.

Prior to retiring, Diane had worked in the Shipping & Receiving Dept. at the former Kilburn Glass Co. in the Chartley section of Norton and previously assisted her former husband, in various capacities, at Ben’s Sawmill in Norton.

Diane was a spiritual woman and had worshiped at the La Salette Shrine in Attleboro. She loved all the wonders that nature offered, and when not spending time with her adoring family, her greatest joy in life was her faithful dog “Harley”.

She was an avid gardener and enjoyed crocheting, classic cars and attending Cruise Nights. Diane will always be remembered, by those who knew her, for the special place she held in her heart for animals.

She is survived by her devoted daughters Leslie A. Astrofsky and her husband Jeffrey of Norton, and Lisa M. Schafer and her husband Gerald of Illinois. She was the cherished grandmother of Justin and Matthew Astrofsky of Norton, and is also survived by her former husband Bernard “Ben” Mignacca of Norton.

Visiting hours, to which relatives and fiends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, March 20th from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.

A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date at Notre Dame Cemetery in Pawtucket.

In lieu of flowers, Diane’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to a local animal shelter of ones choice.
