Larry Bennett Conley, 74, of Tifton passed away Friday, March 16, 2018, at Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Greg Hester officiating. Mr. Conley will be laid to rest at Lakeview Baptist Church in Cook County. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 22, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Jeff Statham, Brian Conley, Mark Wilds, Tommy White, Jamie Dillard and Wesley Hartsfield will serve as pallbearers.
Born July 25, 1943 in Omega, Mr. Conley was the son of the late Mack Conley and Grace Jacquess Conley. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Cecil Conley and Wallace Conley; one sister, Mary Phillips; a nephew, Mike Phillips; and a niece, Darlene Meeler. Before retiring, Larry was an auto mechanic for many years. He enjoyed fishing and working with and riding horses. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Conley is survived by his wife, of 39 years, Ruth Maria Wilds Conley of Tifton; four sons and one daughter-in-law, Tim and Tina Conley of Wimauma, Florida, Adam Conley of Tifton, Jessie Conley of Jacksonville, Florida and Danny Conley of Arcadia, Florida; one daughter and son-in-law, Suann and Barney Barnheiser of West Virginia; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Virgil Johnson of Tifton and Jo and Murray Hester of Lenox; fourteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
