Obituary

John L. Quinn, age 60, Hudson, MA, passed away on March 11, 2018. He was the son of the late Vincent K. Quinn and the late Jean E. (Leamy) Brogan.

He is survived by his siblings — Stephen Quinn, Theresa Quinn, Kirk & Lori (Wirtanen) Quinn, Mike & Christine (Quinn) Landry, and Roger & Katherine (Quinn) Fowkes — and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews, and his best friend, Hannah Lieber.

John graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School in 1976 and later graduated summa cum laude from Framingham State University with a BA in sociology. While there, he was listed in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. He was halfway through obtaining his master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at Assumption College in Worcester when he passed away.

John loved to learn, loved the outdoors, and enjoyed discussing music, religion, and especially politics. Over the years, he worked for and supported many political candidates and was particularly thrilled to see President Barack Obama, Sen. Hillary Clinton, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren in person on the campaign trail.

Throughout his life, John’s greatest attribute was his spirit of generosity. He went above and beyond what was expected in any situation. If there was a need, John would be sure to procure just the right item, even if it meant he went without. If the need was prayer, he was the first one with a St. Anthony of Padua prayer card or Divine Mercy novena. And if the need was service, he was there with a paint brush in hand or the shirt off his back.

John was a blessing to all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary Parish, 1 Church Square, Franklin, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Marlboro Food Pantry 255 Main St. #113, Marlboro, MA 01752.
