Mittie Vernell Ray Dorminy, 98, of Tifton passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Joseph L. Crumley officiating. Mrs. Dorminy will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 18, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born November 1, 1919 in Tifton, Mrs. Dorminy was the daughter of the late D. W. “Doc” Ray and Mae Belle Cravey Ray. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Drew Dorminy; one son, Edgar David Dorminy; one brother, Henry Ray; and three sisters, Doris Moorman, Ruby Allen and Wilma Ikerd. She was a homemaker and a member of Brookfield Baptist Church.
Mrs. Dorminy is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Darlene Dorminey of Enigma; one daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Bruce Grantham of Alpharetta; two grandsons and their wives, Drew and Brandy Dorminey of Tifton and Dusty and Wendy Dorminey of Lake Park; two granddaughters and their husbands, Carolyn and Chris Smith and Ansley Grantham, all of Atlanta; five great-grandchildren, Mitchell Dorminey, Zack Dorminey and his wife Brandie, Deryne Dorminey, Trey Dorminey and Daniel Dorminey; and three sisters, Lucille McMillan of Enigma, Evelyn Kinchen of Screven and Jean Signorello of Orange City, Florida.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to a charity of choice.
