Obituary

Francis Xavier Simeone, 89, of Ashland, formerly of Natick died Monday March 12, 2018 at MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham.

Born in Natick, he was son of the late Frank Simeone and Maria Luiga DiCiacco, brother of the late Rosalie Simeone, Anthony Simeone and Mary Pavlik and grandfather of the late John Paul Simeone.

Francis lived in Natick most of his life, after serving in the United States Army, he and his wife Marjorie lived in Framingham before moving into their own home in Natick in 1960. He worked for the Atlantic and Pacific Tea Company – A&P for 33 years and became a store manager working in many locations in the suburban Boston area, then went to work for the Town of Natick eventually becoming the Custodial Supervisor for the public schools. Francis loved to work, had a very strong work ethic and took pride in everything he did. Dedicated to succeed and accomplish what needed to be done, he worked hard for others while at the same time making sure his wife and children were well provided for.
The family had a camp in NH that they loved to go away for vacation in summers and also in the winter to ski on Canon Mountain. Francis loved to ski and did so right up to the later years of his life. Many good friends and memories were made on these adventures. Besides his love for the outdoors and working in his yard Francis was an avid collector of Nutcrackers, especially German made and hand-carved. He loved nutcrackers made of any material even metal that had purpose and function to work with. Through the years Francis had made contact and good friends with Arlene Wagner who is curator of Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum in Leavenworth, Washington. In the Museum she has area designated as the Simeone collection.

Survivors include his loving wife of 62 Years, Marjorie A. (Burtt) Simeone of Ashland; his children: Stephen F. Simeone of MD, David M. Simeone of CO, Paul K. Simeone of Framingham and Linda F. Shigley and her husband Chuck of Shrewsbury, MA. His grandchildren: Michael, Kristella, Christopher and Cheyenne; his great-grandchildren: Leila, Michael, Connor and Riley and many nieces and nephews also survive him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 10:00 A.M from the John Everett & Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street, at Natick Common.

Visiting hours will be Friday evening 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.
