Eugene “Gene” Norman Bruker, 90, beloved husband of Mrs. Betty Bruker, entered into rest on Monday, March 12, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 16, 2018 in the Storey Chapel at First Baptist Church of Augusta with Mrs. Patti Fowler officiating. Interment to follow at Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends in the Storey Chapel Narthex from 12:00 PM until service time.
Mr. Bruker was born in Augusta on February 7, 1928 to the late Charles and Ethel Bell Bruker. He grew up in Augusta and graduated from the Academy of Richmond County, the University of Georgia, and the Medical College of Georgia. Mr. Bruker taught as Augusta College, served as the President of the Society for Drug Prevention, and retired after many years as a Pharmaceutical Salesman. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Augusta where he sang in the Choir and was a member of the Cason Bruker Sunday School Class.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Bruker is survived by his children, Glynn Bruker (Cathy), Lee Bruker, Kerry Bruker, and Bonnie Bruker; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and his stepchildren, Jan Carter, Ted Jenkins, Jr., and their children. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 51 years, Margie C. Bruker; his children, Brian T. Bruker, and Genie Laird; and his brother, Charles C. Bruker.
Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the Cason Bruker Sunday School Class.
