George (Jay) F. Dion, 65, of Kingston, MA passed away suddenly on March 10, 2018. Born on July 4, 1952 to the late George and Doris Dion. He was the beloved husband of 45 years to Wendy (Lord) Dion. Loving father to Schaun Dion and his wife Megan, Heather Powderly and her husband Jon, Melissa Chue and her husband James, and like a father to Mitchell Ballinger and his wife Michelle. Grandfather to Joshua and Emma Dion, Allison and Sean Powderly, and Samantha and Ava Chue.
He was a graduate of Silver Lake Regional High School in Kingston and ITT Tech. At age 19 he married the love of his life Wendy and they settled into Kingston to raise their family. Jay worked in the auto body industry and opened his own business, Jay’s Auto. He was a jack of all trades. Always willing to help out family and friends at the drop of a hat. Through the years he enjoyed many activities such as camping, boating, fishing, watching his kids play sports, riding his motorcycle, watching Nascar races, numerous vacations, and spending the winters in Naples, FL. He had the gift of gab and loved to stop anyone who wanted to listen. He was one of a kind.
Visiting hours will be held from 1:00-3:00 on Sunday March 18, 2018 followed by a service at 3:00, at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street (rt. 106) Kingston, MA 02364.
