Obituary

Carolyn “Nadine” Simmons Hall Needle, 87, of Tifton passed away Friday, March 9, 2018, at Legacy Village in Tifton. Her funeral service wil be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Steve Tucker officiating. Mrs. Needle will be laid to rest at Harding Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Dalton Hall, Dylan Hall, Dan Russell, Bates Russell Beau Cope and Charles Cope will serve as pallbearers.

Born December 19, 1930 in Tift County, Mrs. Needle was the daughter of the late Adean Simmons and Pauline Kelly Simmons and grew up in the Harding Community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two husbands, Julian Hall (her childhood sweetheart - also of Tifton), who she married in 1946. When he returned to Tifton after serving his country, they moved to Miami, Florida, where they raised their four children, until his untimely death December 24, 1969.

She married her second husband, Paul Needle in 1972. Paul was a special man, who loved her and her four children as his own. He passed away in 1996. She was also preceded in death by one son, Michael “Dale” Hall; three brothers, Paul Lewis, Barry Dale and Steve Simmons; one sister, Sandra Joyce Morris; and a great-granddaughter, Anna Joy Pesce.

Mrs. Needle is survived by two daughters, Julia Hall Gibson of Woodstock and Teresa Hall English (David) of Tifton; one son, Darryl Hall of Clifton Park, New York; a grandson, whom she raised, Michael Hall, Jr.; a daughter-in-law, Ann Hall of West Palm Beach, Florida; one sister, Martha Harper of Tifton; additional grandchildren, John Hall, Kayla English Pesce, Leigh Bretherton Hudgins, Dale Hall, Dalton Hall and Dylan Hall; four great-grandchildren, Johnny Hall and Hayden Bretherton, Ava Hudgins and Angelina Dale-Hall; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Nadine loved life, family and friends. She enjoyed visiting as well as having family visit her! There was nothing she loved more than a good ol’ family reunion or gathering and remembering everyone with pictures. She was the person to go to when you wanted to know who was who and how they were all related.

She would tell you her greatest achievements were raising four wonderful children and a grandson, but she also owned and ran a take-out restaurant in Miami, Florida, a country grocery store in Brookfield, as well as being a personal care nurse. She was happiest when she was doing for others. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, where she has attended church most of her life.

A special thank you to the caring staff and caretakers at Legacy Village (Memory Care), who treated her with love and dignity during the last years of her life, while battling Alzheimer’s.
